Sau Wai Tai is an artist and writer exploring the undercurrents of places, in particular where gender, community and environment intersect. As part of this process, her recent contribution is to the book Women under the Umbrella, published in 2015. Given her long residency in Toronto, Canada, where she worked and acquired her Magiseriate degree in Environmental Studies, she also exhibited her installation works Infinite Umbrellas and The Rain of Ping Che (a village under threat of development) in two group shows there. Her work Un/seen in 2014 was also about the environmental pressures imposed on them as the government altered its river.
